Being Alone in My Grief: Solitude vs. Loneliness

The experience of grief includes periods of loneliness and times of solitude. Join us to discuss the differences between the two, the common experiences of loneliness and the importance of solitude.

The Importance of Remembering
Remembering our loved one and our shared experiences through the years holds great value. For many though, the memories can at first be unsettling. However, over time, they shift to bittersweet. Join us to discuss how remembering plays a role in your grief.

Drop-in grief groups are held every month:

— 1st & 3rd Tuesdays: 12 – 1:00 pm at Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church – 5226 W. William Cannon Dr. 78749

— 2nd & 4th Tuesdays: 12:00 – 1:00 pm at Hospice Austin’s administrative offices – 4107 Spicewood Springs Rd. 78759

Topics are used as a starting point for each group, however participants are free to bring up any issues and topics they would like to discuss.
RSVP is not required and there is no charge for the group.

 

Conversations on Grief

Hospice Austin offers free monthly 1-hour online grief support through your phone, computer, or mobile device. Conversations on Grief are are offered the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm. You’re welcome to attend one, several or all webinars.

The Power of Gratitude in Grief
Gratitude and grief are not two words you normally use when talking about loss. After all, how is it possible you could be grateful when you’re grieving the loss of a loved one? During this webinar you’ll learn how to become emotionally agile and experience what happens when you choose to embrace your grief with gratitude.

Day of Renewal: A Creative & Experiential Exploration of Grief

Save the date! Saturday, April 27th: 9 am – 4:30 pm, Trinity United Methodist Church
(4001 Speedway Austin, TX 78751)

This special day combines gentle movement, aromatherapy, art, writing, and meditation.

• Coffee/Tea, breakfast, lunch & snacks will be provided
• Cost to attend is $20/person (Scholarships are available)
• Registration is not confirmed until payment is received
• We ask that participants be at least three months out from the death of their loved one as of April 27th
• Registration is limited to 20 people
