Survivors of Suicide

Hospice Austin's Survivors of Suicide (SOS) support group is on hold until the spring.  We would be happy to have you on our list or refer you to another group in the community.

Survivors of suicide have special and unique needs. This support group offers a place where one can openly share and express their feelings and listen to the experiences of others who are also survivors.

This group is free and open to the public.

Please contact Renee Green  by e-mail or by calling 512-342-4700 and asking for the Bereavement Department.

Families in Grief Program

DO YOU HAVE CHILDREN WHO ARE GRIEVING THE LOSS OF A LOVED ONE?

Families in Grief (FIG) is a 6-week bereavement counseling program designed to assist grieving families with children ages 6-17.

Families in Grief helps parents and children understand grief, normalize the feelings associated with grief, promote increased family communication and facilitate healthy resolution of this normal but difficult process.

Families in Grief is $25. An intake session with a therapist is required.  If all six sessions are attended, the fee for the program will be refunded to the family.  Dinner will be served each evening and childcare is provided for children under age six.

Enrollment is limited, and regular attendance by the entire family is required.

If you are interested in this program, please contact Hospice Austin’s Bereavement department at
512/342-4700 or 1-800-445-3261.
