Doug and Sue’s Travel Adventures

It’s Hospice Austin’s goal to give our patients relief from their symptoms so that they may enjoy life to the fullest. When Doug was admitted to Hospice Austin a year ago, he was not expected to live long. His condition, while still serious, has improved so much that Hospice Austin happily discharged him recently.  We love it when our patients get well enough to leave our service!

Recently, Doug embarked on a cross-country road trip with his wife, Sue, and his friend, Jim, in Jim’s RV. Along for the ride was also Jim’s dog, Chester who, by all accounts, is quite a character. Jim kept an entertaining Journal of their adventures and mishaps, which the trio have graciously shared with all of us to enjoy. It’s fun to travel along with them vicariously.

Jim said the journal was created with a bit of tongue in cheek to keep it lighthearted. He added, “The remarkable journey of Doug and Sue across the country in an RV after having been limited to a narrow radius around their home is a story that needs to be told.  I consider it a privilege to be in a position to do just that.”

So, here’s to living life to the fullest. Happy Travels!
